Sunshine!

So I missed my first group of lectures today god damn it!!! I just didn't wake up in time yet again, although Rocky didn't play so I blame it on that. New stuff today!!

Got my USB router and a fancy book on ghosts and hauntings. The router was much needed, I couldn't spend much more time plugging and unplugging USB things into my computer, as my computer has only one USB slot. The book is for research into this new film I'm assistant producer on. Man, it's so exciting to say that I'm an assistant producer hehe. Did a read through of the short yesterday with Chris. It really helps to say it out loud; there's a few changes to make after hearing it.

I got my hair cut as you can probably tell in the photos. At first I thought it was a bit too short, but I like it now. A lot better short I reckon, although I wear a hat too much for it to really matter. Definatly gonna go in tomorrow, I'm in at nine though so it's gonna take a bit of an effort, but I've really really got to. Alleria is going slloowww. Might write a quick post before I got to bed. I fancy a quick snack of a bread and butter sandwich :) yummy.

There's no one in the flat at the moment. G is annoying the hell outta me with questions. A is home for a couple of weeks and G2... well no one ever knows where she is. Hmmm not feeling the writing vibe too much. Just like yesterday! I do hope its not a trend.

HeyHo! Let's Go!

Just got home from being at my mums. Finally got all my washing back and my cupboard will be full soon! Clean clothes yay! Although I did forgot to take my gym shorts so they're gonna stay dirty for a couple more weeks. Eek, I've got Smallville on at the same time as writing this and I'm finding it a little hard to concentrate hehe.

My mum told me today that my profile was not unlike Tom Cruise! Now I reckon I should take that as a compliment. What'da you guys think?

I personally don't see it, but I hope other people do!

Back in lectures tomorrow. Haven't been in university for bloody ages! Video Production and Sound Recording are the new two modules I'm doing. Starting at ten o'clock tomorrow morning! gonna make it this time. bright and early. then head back into town; buy some batteries (remember, remember, remember) and then go to the gym and go to Walkabout to hand in my CV and get a job there since I didn't get the one at the snooker club :(

Can't really think of too much to say though tonight. I'm a little tired and I need to unpack. I'll be in touch!

Scripts, Rugby And Chilis (But no chilis)

Hey guys. I wrote my first full short script last night. I just sat down and decided to write it :) It turned out pretty good too I reckon. As I said before it's about two guys who run out of beer. I'll post a copy in pdf format at the bottom of this blog. Don't go stealing it now!

I'm just watching the rugby at the moment; England are winning but not too convincingly. Still, a damn sight better than we were in the autumn. It's only Italy though. France and Ireland will kick our asses if we play like this again.

My mouse is starting to run out of batteries!! eek! I hope it lasts a bit longer cos I'm not off out for a while. Decided out to go to the gym today as it is the rugby and the footie's on. Liverpool are winning already- get in! By the way, I am a massive massive Liverpool fan and no doubt you'll get many glimpses of my passion. Believe me there will be a big big blog on the subject of Liverpool's thrashing of Barcelona at Anfield to which I will be going to ;)

Seeing my Dad for a drink tonight somewhere in Leeds, which reminds me I really need to get my hair cut. Getting a tad too long. I used to wear my hair really really long but since the family curse has kicked in (receding hairline) I've had it cropped short.

Not too much more to say really, ordered a book and a USB hub from Amazon yesterday. Should get them on monday. I'm off home tomorrow as well to get my washing done and see Chris to talk about making the short. I know where I can get a camera from, but I need to find a way to record the sound... I really need a boom mic and a DAT or minidisk recorder... Hmmm I'll figure something out. It's really exciting actually, I've no idea why I didn't start doing this earlier. Probably cos I'm a lazy fucker.

Anyway's as I said; not much to report so I will post tonight to make up for it.

Here a copy of my new script :) Enjoy!

Wow!

Wowoowowowo! I just did this stupid test and it could not be more true. At least I hope not.

Where will you be in ten years?
WHERE:
Being famous

WHY:
Skipped so much school
Where will you be in 10 years?  at  QuizGalaxy.com

You'll see, in ten years people will look back at this post and think "wow"

:)

Wee-Mini-Pod

Yayyyy!! My iPod shuffle came! It's soooo cool and sooo tiny!

I like this pose when I get new things. I think I shall do it all the time.

Look how tiny!!

You can't see it properly but it says "Let's Build Some Hurtin' Bombs" Yea!

It's gonna be my little gym buddy. I took it today and it was ace! Clips right onto my shorts and you can't even tell its there. Had a good session in the gym today. Plenty of "Gonna Fly Now". You people should know what song! And if you don't go find out ;)

Just got back from doing the weekly shop. I had my shopping list all written out and everything. I felt rather grown-up:
:: Eggs
:: Ham
:: Bread (which I misspelt beard by accident)
:: Chilies
:: Butter
:: Salad
:: Apples
:: Milk

That should do me for a week cos I don't really eat that much (anymore). Oooo I forgot the 4 Diam Bars - nicest chocolate in the world?! - for treats 'n stuff. I just couldn't resist. My flatmate, G, just came in to tell me she got a job which I also applied for too. I hope they're hiring more people. I reallllyy wanted to work there. Oh well, if not I have a backup plan which involves Walkabout. It might be crazy busy but it'll make the time go faster I reckon.

Had a lovely moment on the way back from the shopping. It was raining slightly and I was eating an apple and all of a sudden it started snowing. It looked really pretty. Made me smile anyway. Just trying to decide what to do tonight. I've decided to shoot a short film over a couple of days in a few weeks. It's gonna be the one about some guys running out of beer... I think. I'm still out 100% but I reckon I should write the script anyway and see what I think of it when its done... Yea s'good plan.

I finished writing up my new Allerian character. You can read about him here if you want to. It's pretty basic to be honest, but I didn't want any of this 'village raided by Orcs' crap. Can't wait to get playing. Just waiting on hearing back from the powers at be if I can have a few special things. Nothing too crazy though I hope.

Erm... crap, I had something else to say but now I've totally forgotten. Pfft... I'll post it, if and when I remember it.

Late 'N That

Wow its late and I'm mega tired but I thought I'd give you all a brief update! I got back from work a bit ago. Was soooo easy its crazy. Just stacked shelves, although the dewy decimal system is annoying me slightly.

I've decided to head back to Alleria, a play-by-post RPG, for whose who don't know anything! I've been doing it on and off for a reeaaallllyy long time, but this year I'm gonna try make a concerted effort to keep it up. It's awesome writing practice and stimulates the imagination. Everyone should do it!

I'm about to head to bed, just thought I'd type a little bit before I lose consciousness. I hope my iPod comes tomorrow. Although the stupid Apple people ship with a Dutch company, which means it goes all the way to Holland and then back to Leeds! Eeekk! I can't wait. Its such a little cool thing.

Anyway ladies and gents (ls&gs from now on). G'night.

Let's Build Some Hurtin' Bombs!

The view from my window!

Sibelius Excitement!

Hey everyone. Yet again I'm posting in the middle of the day, but I'm working tonight, so I figure I won't have any time when I get back. I didn't mention in my welcome blog, but I'm working at the Leeds Met Library, which is just the easiest thing I've ever done! It's just stacking shelves! Seriously easy going. Not working for long though, only 3 hours, but every little help. I got another job today. I'm a production assistant on a UK independent film!! How awesome is that?! I'm really phyced about it, its my first real job in the film industry. I gotta research into stuff and get props. It's awesome!

I'm loving Sibelius, as you can probably tell by the picture. I can write cool stuff again! I decided to start small and write a little string quartet piece. It's sounding pretty cool which is unusual cos I didn't plan any of it and usually when I don't plan, it sounds terrible.

I'm trying to decide whether to make this feature film I've had an idea about or go onto a smaller scale and write a short film. I had a cool funny idea about two or three guys sitting on a sofa drinking beer and they run out of beer so they have a massive argument about who gets the beer/how to get the beer. I think it could be quite funny if I wrote it right. And it would be cheap! Only need three people a sofa and some beer.

I've been thinking about equipment too. Obviously I have absolutely no money so I can't afford a camera but I can borrow one from uni I think. But I can't borrow a mic and a boom and a sound recorder, which is annoying. I just won't allow myself to record the sound with the mic on the camera. Sound is too important!!

Anyways, as for daily life, I've just got back from the gym. Still working on those hurtin' bombs (God, Rocky Balboa is an inspiring movie). I'm waiting for my iPod Shuffle which I ordered so I've got something to keep me company on the trend-mill. I HATE running! Modern society is such a bugger. Gonna make myself some lovely food soon - two hard boiled eggs, a slice of toast, a slice of ham and a chili. Student food, you gotta love it.

Repo

Well I guess this is my first proper entry, in which I shall describe my daily goings-on and such. I'll try and make it as interesting as possible but I'm not promising anything. The fact that I'm writing this at 14:45 seems a tad stupid to me as there is half the day to go, but oh well... I'm write another tonight.. maybe.

Woke up at 11am today, which is a nightmare as I had an interview for a bar job at 11am. Thankfully it wasn't too far away and I managed to get there for 11:05, with liberal deodorant sprayings. It went pretty well I think. It's a nice quiet bar so it's gonna be easy work. It's at a snooker club too, which is ace. I came home to find that Sibelius 4 had been delivered! It's all installed now and ready to go! Gonna have a big writing session after I've finished rambling to you people.

I've been wondering to myself how to go about doing what I want to do. I mean, I have a passion for music and films so do I do both at the same time? or concentrate on one of them? At the moment, I'm leaning towards having two projects on the go at the same time, allowing me to switch back and forth if I get stuck or bored with one... hmmm yea it sounds good to me.

Stargate Atlantis just finished season 3 which I'm a bit gutted about cos I love that show (I'm a Sci-Fi geek) But, 24 just started and Lost is back tomorrow, so I'll think I cope. I love all these big-budget well thought out TV shows. 24 started it all and Lost took it to another level. I'm just glad there's some quality TV on the air these days. Wish the BBC could make something like it. Not shitty Dr Who.

My plans for the rest of days aren't expansive. Just play on Sibelius and try and get the plot done for this film I'm trying to write. I just have no clue. It's quite infuriating. At the moment it's turning into a 'coming home' story but I dunno if I want that... The thing is, as I'm on no-budget, I can only use the things around me. Which is a student house and all things studenty. And I just don't think that's the right feel for this movie. If I shot just in the house it'd feel very claustrophobic. I need an outside, an expanse... plus there's a dog in it... Man I need to think about this.

At Last... An Introduction!

Hello everyone. I'm Stephen Marshall and I've finally gotten round to writing this 'welcome post'. Multiple things have been trying to stop me write it today, which lead me to question the very writing of thing blog. However, superstition did not prevail as you can surely tell... as you are reading this.

I'm a twenty year old student (god, nearly twenty-one. what a nightmare) studying Creative Music And Sound Technology at Leeds Metropolitan University in the awesome county of West Yorkshire, which is situated in the North of the amazing country that is England... Is England a country? I don't think it is, it's a nation state or something like that... Anyway back to the point. I've started this blog for a few reasons.

1. I like writing. It's good to write and this is good practice
2. I always feel the need to tell random people about my life
3. To catalog my attempts and eventual failure at becoming a film director/musician/actor(maybe)

So that's the basic gist. I am a writer of music and of prose and I wanna get noticed. Doesn't everyone? I'm still not sure to what depth I shall be taking this into my personal life however... I dunno, I like to allude to things rather than say them outright. If you read something that seems rather weird or out of place then it's probably me alluding to something. Maybe I'll let you guys in one day.

I live in a big block of halls called Opal One. It's pretty nice, but a little bland and boring at times. I live with four other people; A, G, E and G2. A little about them? Maybe I should get their permission... meh odds are they'll never find out about this thing.

A is a southern lad studying Music Tech which is pretty much the same course I'm doing. He an awesome guy, not quite musically inclined my way, but I'm working on metalling him up ;)

E is a fellow northerner, although sadly born in manchester - we can't all be from liverpool mate. He definitely doesn't have the same music tastes as me and there's no real hope for him. Don't really talk much to be honest.

G could not be nicer. She's a crazy blonde who acts too much like my mum sometimes, but you can't help but like her

And finally G2. Coolest lady ever. Twenty spliffs a day and totally crazy. She's ace.

Soooo, there you go. Hope this is the start of something beautiful guys. And hope you enjoy reading about me and my life and everything I moan about.

Catch ya on the flip side.

Gymin' It

So this is me! Your new best friend.

I guess I should really explain what this is all about and why I'm doing it. And I shall!! Soon enough! Right now, I gotta go to the gym, cos I'm feeling energetic. I promise promise promise to write a big long one explaining all about me 'n stuff.

Once More Unto The Breach

Well, the plan was to write something nice and large but instead I've decided I'm rather tired and will write something tomorrow.

Bet all you non-existant people can't wait to read it ;)
